Addictive

Another "lost weekend" absorbed in a great book. Thanks to Librarygirl for the loan of Tana French's "In the Woods" which I found to be unputdownable. Will be ordering the next in the series when I'm next at work.
I'm still persevering with "Wolf Hall" (first time I've attempted to read a book in its entirety on my Ipad). I am enjoying it, but find it heavy going at times and can only read it in small doses or I lose concentration and can't recall what I've just read.
As usual, while immersed in "In the Woods", I ignored everything which was going on in my household.
I threw together haphazard meals as we seemed to be missing basic ingredients for most things.
My children informed me at lunchtime yesterday, that we had all been drinking milk which was FIVE DAYS past its use-by date. Noone had suffered any ill-effects I might add, but I felt a bit of a failure all the same for not being more observant.
I realised quite late last night that work and school clothes for some people had not yet been washed in readiness for today. Nothing quite like doing frantic washing and drying at 11pm on a Sunday.
Must stop reading in this addictive manner!
I've spent the morning catching up with neglected domestic stuff and hope to spend some time pottering around the garden in the lovely sunshine later today.

Reading is like that. I cannot count the number of times I have neglected everything and everyone for the sake of a book. And I don't regret it either.

Knew you'd love Tana.
WH requires ENORMOUS concentration and you do need to read a bit every day to stay in the rhythm of it.
