Healthy living

Gradually slipping back into my pre-Christmas healthy eating routine, with only the occasional backslide (eg. Z made irresistible Chocolate Brownies on Sunday)
Breakfast is usually fruit with Greek yogurt, or homemade muesli.
The fruit varies from day to day, but bananas and strawberries are staples.

Gave mango another go last week, but no, still don't like it.
Lunch of choice right now, is this salad. Lettuce, avocado, semi-dried tomatoes, fetta - love all these textures together.

Back to walking almost every day. Sometimes I bring my camera, and I'm usually glad I did.

Winter

Even weeds are beautiful when dusted with frost.

Bright

Yesterday, before the weather here took a decided turn for the worse, I went for a bird observing walk. Sometimes, I just walk and serendipitously come across photo-worthy sights. Other days, I deliberately set out looking for one specific thing - usually birds. This does require a fair amount of patience and a lot of standing quietly so as not to scare off the photo subjects. Some days I'm luckier than others. I would consider yesterday a reasonably lucky day.
Now that most of  the lovely Autumn leaves have blown away, our colourful native birds have kindly decided to decorate the bare trees.

Edited to add these photos which were accidentally deleted.
All were taken between 7 and 7.30 am.
A truly breathtaking winter sunrise.

Thursday

Routine slightly out of whack today as I'm doing the afternoon/evening shift at work. No motivation right now to do anything practical around the house so I think I'll just read until it's time to hop on the bus to work.
Making the most of the Autumn colours in this last week of the season.

Various weird fungi.

Morning rainbow.

A couple of months ago, we put a small birdbath in our little front garden. The other day I was thrilled to actually see it in use.
Slightly blurry through-the-window photos!
