It's been a long time....

I'm not really getting back into this - at least, I don't think I am. We'll see.

This is for N, who told me the other night she was always a bit disappointed every time she's checked here in the last year to see if I'd posted anything. That annoying seagull is not the first thing you'll see now!

This is also for my darling Eloise, who asked me a while ago if I'd blog about her wedding. Absolutely. It's the event of the year for our family and it's nearly here!

I can't really sum up an entire un-blogged year in one post so I'm just sharing a few random pictures from the last couple of months. Autumn is the best time after all.

Summer days, drifting away

 January. Nearly over already.

Went out for dinner with my girls before going to see "Grease".

What a show it was!

Visited a possible wedding venue with the newly-engaged couple.

Celebrated Australia Day in the usual fashion.

Consumed my weight in ice-cream during the heatwaves.

Witnessed a lot of this.

New colour scheme

I finished painting the master bedroom over a month ago, and I'm still not sold on it. I kind of miss our lush, bohemian retreat.
Before

Perhaps I'll like it more in summer, when it's too hot to sleep with anything more than a sheet and the ceiling fan on. I imagine then I'll appreciate the cool whiteness of it all.

The biggest advantage of this new look, is that I can change the colour scheme any time I like now.
The previously pink walls tended to limit the possibilities with bed linen colours.
Today I've gone for a touch of spring green.

 This kitty approves.

Bonus kitty shot just because he's pretty cute.

Resting and reading

In the past eleven days, I've had one day off work, and today is my first day off after seven days straight. Admittedly, two of those days were only short shifts (three hours long), but even so, I'm feeling somewhat drained of energy today on this blessed day off.
I need to do some "home" work today. Part of my job as a book shop employee is that I must read as much as possible in order to recommend books to our customers. Not a hardship. My current reading pile includes several titles which will be appearing in our next catalogue. My only problem is deciding which one to read first. I think it might be the two children's books today. Too sleepy to contemplate anything more challenging.

The divine book below was a treat to myself after finishing work yesterday. So very, very gorgeous.

So much green. Must be healthy.
