It's been a long time....

I'm not really getting back into this - at least, I don't think I am. We'll see.

This is for N, who told me the other night she was always a bit disappointed every time she's checked here in the last year to see if I'd posted anything. That annoying seagull is not the first thing you'll see now!

This is also for my darling Eloise, who asked me a while ago if I'd blog about her wedding. Absolutely. It's the event of the year for our family and it's nearly here!

I can't really sum up an entire un-blogged year in one post so I'm just sharing a few random pictures from the last couple of months. Autumn is the best time after all.

February bits and pieces

In February.....

... we lived through a couple of weeks of constant smoke haze.

We visited the city on an exceedingly hot day....

....where we saw the "Ladies of Hotham" exhibition at Federation Square.

We attended a bridal expo and admired this little chapel, which will be featuring in many photos next year.

We are attempting to eat more healthily.

Zucchini muffins

Banana bread

But have occasionally failed spectacularly at this.

I re-hung this painting which has been in storage since the room was repainted four years ago.

Z gave me the petals from her Valentine's day roses to use as pot pourri.

Someone thought they were a tasty snack.

I had to admire the way Z set up the bathroom in preparation for a bubble bath the other night.

I saw this, which made me very happy

New colour scheme

I finished painting the master bedroom over a month ago, and I'm still not sold on it. I kind of miss our lush, bohemian retreat.
Before

Perhaps I'll like it more in summer, when it's too hot to sleep with anything more than a sheet and the ceiling fan on. I imagine then I'll appreciate the cool whiteness of it all.

After

The biggest advantage of this new look, is that I can change the colour scheme any time I like now.
The previously pink walls tended to limit the possibilities with bed linen colours.
Today I've gone for a touch of spring green.

 This kitty approves.

Bonus kitty shot just because he's pretty cute.
