On Monday, I walked to a place I haven't visited for a long time.
Only about twenty minutes walk from home, but it was as if I was a million miles from anywhere

I'd forgotten all about this amazing tree until I saw a photo J's girlfriend had taken a couple of weeks ago.

The kids and I used to walk here when they were much younger.
I dug out some old photos, taken on a couple of different occasions, of this area and this particular tree.
J was about twelve here, and Z about ten.
They look so sweet and innocent!

I think they were pretending this was the "Whomping Willow" from the Harry Potter books here.

The old tree has deteriorated a bit since those days but on the whole the scenery remains unchanged.

I miss those days.

I love that last photo. Where did those years go?

I have a couple of similar photos of the youngest of my brothers and me down by the Yarra. They're favourites of mine. Your photos brought them to mind. So lovely. N x
