I was quite taken with the trees reaching through the glass ceiling at the cake shop/cafe.
The fallen leaves looked so pretty through the glass.

Having said that, my two favourite movies of all time have remained the same for at least the last (dare I say it) thirty years. It's always one or the other of these at the top of my favourites list. I can't decide which one I love more and I sincerely doubt any other movie will ever replace either of them at the top of this list.
One of these shall be revealed at a later date during my on-going classic movie rewatch. The other one, I saw today at a special cinematic screening.
"To Kill a Mockingbird" is simply a perfect movie. Wonderfully adapted from Harper Lee's 1960 novel of the same name (of course, one of my favourite books) it is set in a small town in Alabama during the 1930's and stars Gregory Peck as lawyer, Atticus Finch, who is tasked with defending a black man who is accused of raping a white woman. The court case and life in the town is largely seen through the eyes of Atticus' children Jem and Scout.
Atticus Finch is without question, one of the greatest movie heroes of all time. Gregory Peck is perfection in this role as are the young actors who play his children. I adore everything about this movie - including the beautiful black and white cinematography and moving musical score. I could rave about this movie endlessly, but instead, here are a few pretty pictures.
I could have been a blubbering mess by the time the movie ended but I restrained myself as I was in the company of C (the non-crier). However, I was pleased to note many sniffles around me and tissues being applied as everyone made their way out of the cinema.
We're looking forward to a few more outings of this nature.
Strange sunset and Melbourne skyline.
Such a good day.
