Prometheus

As a long-time fan of Ridley Scott's original "Alien", I was keen to see " Prometheus" which is (kind of ) a prequel to that movie and its successors.
Prometheus did not disappoint with it's suspense, spectacular special effects and intriguing plot. It unfortunately didn't quite capture the claustrophobic atmosphere of the original movie. It did, however, have plenty of blood and gore!
It also starred Michael Fassbender. Enough said.

I really enjoyed this movie and will certainly watch it again .

***
Quite behind with the classic movie updates so here's a few I've watched recently.

"Gaslight"(1944) starring Ingrid Bergman as a woman who is driven to the brink of insanity by her charming but devious husband (Charles Boyer)

"To Have and Have Not" (1944). I was too distracted by Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's amazing chemistry here to pay much attention to the plot. They were sizzling hot together.
I can't believe Lauren Bacall was only 19 years old when she made this.

"Lifeboat" ( 1944). Classic Hitchcock. Snappy dialogue. Intriguing characters.
Always a favourite.

"National Velvet" (1944). Elizabeth Taylor simply glows as sweet horse-mad Velvet who wants to enter her beloved horse in the English Grand National steeple chase.
Very sweet movie.

I love these classic movie updates. Bogey and Bacall - what a pairing! And much more lighting of the cigarettes. Keep them coming. N x
