Saturday in the Park

New York, Saturday the 17th of September 2011(Part 1)

We decided to explore Central Park on our first day in New York as it was only a 10 minute walk from our apartment and it was such a perfect sunny day.
Warning. Huge number of photographs to follow. Taking into consideration that E and I took 216 photos between us of our day in Central Park, I'm amazed that I could narrow it down as much as I have
Central Park is without doubt the most beautiful place in New York - so green and lush and peaceful. The "greenness"(is that a word?) was incredible. We are so used to everything looking brown and dead at the end of Summer here in Australia, but there it was almost like Spring.

E took this photo of me as she was very amused by my stopping and taking a photo of a "pot plant" (as she called it) when the whole vista of the park was in front of us.
This is the photo I was taking . I would have photographed every plant and flower I saw if time allowed and I had more patient companions!

Fairytale green canopies everywhere

Part 2, featuring Central Park Zoo, hopefully later today.
