Refreshed

We're a strange lot here in Melbourne. We complain endlessly about the long, wet winter months -hanging out for the summer. When the heat finally arrives, we can only handle it for a few days at a time before we're wishing for cooler days. I'm no different in this regard. Today's deliciously chilly weather was much appreciated after the exhausting heat.
Little things such as leaves chasing each other down the street and the occasional vibrantly coloured leaf in amongst the green are hints that Autumn is only four weeks away.

It was a good day for a variety of domestic pursuits which included making Vegetable and Chickpea Moroccan Stew for dinner. Very comforting on this cold day.
Then, despite yesterday's pastry indulgence, I made a Boysenberry and Apple Pie for dessert.

Perfect pie weather.

In the evening I closed the curtains early, lit candles and snuggled down with a book and throw rug.

E was joined by two smoochy cats on her couch. They love the cool weather too.

We were all shivering at about nine p.m. and put the heater on. Ker-azy.
