After struggling to find colour in the gardens around here during the last few weeks of summer and early autumn, I no longer have that problem. Apart from the lovely autumn leaves, there are vibrantly coloured berries everywhere. I love cotoneasters, even though I believe they are considered to be a weed now. That may well be, but the local birds seem to enjoy them too.
