Autumn arrived in a very dramatic fashion. Wild winds and torrential rain galore. It's cool for now, but we all know there will probably be another blast of heat before March is over. Melbourne weather is so wonderfully unpredictable.
This afternoon, the lamps were turned on and candles lit.
I made Pumpkin Soup and "Hamburgers with the Lot" for tea.
Only the youngest child is home tonight. The other kids are out socialising.
I intend to spend the evening reading.
I loved "The Bellwether Revivals" which I read at my sister's suggestion and finished this morning. I'm sure she will review this book on her blog soon ( and do a better job of it than I ever could!)
So I have begun to read the rather intriguing "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children". Two of my girls were truly freaked out by the cover photographs. There are even more weird images throughout the book .
Spooky levitating little girl.
Various strangeness.
Come to think of it, I probably shouldn't read this right before bedtime......

I love the glimpses into your beautiful and welcoming home. And I would like to hear what you thought of that second book, it is the sort of title that attracts me. Sometimes a winner, other times decidedly not.
